Welcome to the Buellton Union School District

Buellton Union School District is a K-8 district with an enrollment of approximately 600 students. It is currently served by two schools. 

OAK VALLEY ELEMENTARY includes grades TK-5, while JONATA MIDDLE SCHOOL serves students in grades 6-8. Both are rural, neighborhood schools located within a few blocks of one another in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, approximately 40 miles north of the city of Santa Barbara.

The Buellton Union School District has high expectations and offers a wide range of programs and services for our students. Some examples of these programs are counseling, speech and resource services, help for English Learners, Drug Free Club, after school tutoring, and after school sports and activities.

Announcements

Buellton Union School District was named a California Exemplary District in an announcement made by State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond on Monday February 25th. There are 977 school districts in California, and Buellton was one of only 18 districts, receiving this honor.

In addition, Jonata Middle School was the only school in Santa Barbara County to be named a California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education.
